Liam's Room, Inc. is currently working with Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey on designing a room (Liam's Room) in the pediatric in-patient unit. The room is to be used by families whose children are diagnosed with a chronic or potentially life limiting illness. The room is to be designed with as many comforts of home, with the hope of making the child and their family as comfortable as possible, during their hospital stay. Staff members will be educated on pediatric palliative care and will provide families with continued support and resources.
Liam's Room is also affiliated with Good Grief in Summit, New Jersey. Good Grief provides a safe, comfortable environment for children to cope with the loss of a loved one. Good Grief can be reached @: www.good-grief.org
Additionally, Liam's Room is affiliated with Circle of Life Children's Center in Newark, New Jersey. Circle of Life provides pediatric palliative care consultation services, utilizing pain and symptom management to parents, pediatricians and pediatric sub specialists, primarily in urban settings.
