Liam's Room was founded by Lisa and Peter
McNamara, of Westfield, NJ, in memory of their son, Liam. The mission of Liam's Room is to create inpatient pediatric palliative care rooms and services for families whose children are suffering from chronic, potentially life-limiting, conditions. Our purpose is to give these children, and their families, a feeling of a home away from home, during their period(s) of care.
Our Goals
To equip the room with all of the amenities a child's room should offer
To provide comfort to the entire family
To educate the staff, who are treating the families, regarding key components to pediatric palliative care
To provide support, resources, and guidance to families throughout the entire process of navigating through the many challenges that occur in these situations
In loving memory of Liam Hayden McNamara November 10, 2005 ~ March 9, 2007
